Expressing and Loving Myself More Fully

Pure Poise definitely has a specific brand look, but I do love when ladies want to put their own touches on their experience, within reason of course. When she started to mention old holly wood glam and 20’s vibes, my Beauty Babe Ashley’s eyes started to sparkle and she demanded I start digging for some accessories.
“These experiences can be more on the serious side if you prefer, but who wouldn’t rather laugh their asses off while feeling badass!!“
HAHA I dug up the perfect amount of glam to modify and hair product for her to make this session’s experience a bit historical. We had an absolute blast creating and laughing, and the laughs continued every time I re-watched our hysterical TikTok from the day! These experiences can be more on the serious side if you prefer, but who wouldn’t rather laugh their asses off while feeling badass!!

Q: What brought you to book a boudoir experience?
A: I have had friends who have done it before and it looked fun! Getting all dressed up (well, make up and hair anyways 🤣) and having pretty pictures taken have been on my wish list for awhile. Due to life circumstances I did not get senior pictures or professional pictures at my wedding. Those special moments that are memorialized in pictures and that people hold onto , I did not have and wanted. So my option was to get boring professional pictures, or being a bad ass and getting fun professional pictures taken!
Q: How did you feel leading up to, and during your experience?
A: I was nervous because I had an idea but I didn’t know how people would react to that idea. I am a history buff and have always thought of doing pictures with the classical, 1920s feel to it. Make up was a blast! Ashley is really good and fun. When I told her my idea, she went off and did her thing with my hair and makeup. The whole thing felt surreal and I was not nervous about being naked in front of Amanda (I have three kids and was in the military, many people have seen me naked 🤣). But I was nervous about how the pictures would turn out as I definitely not the model body that is plastered all over on TV and social media.
Q: Describe your experience to your best friend. Give us the hype!
A: This experience for me was not about being sexy. It was accepting my body as it is and allowing myself to have fun. If the only thing stopping you is because you don’t thing you are pretty or skinny enough, you are going to miss out on a lot of fun things in life.
Q: How did seeing your final images at viewing make you feel?
A: I was amazed!!!!! Of course I was looking at them at work (not my work computer just in case) so I couldn’t be loud with excitement but I can not wait to share these pictures!, especially with my husband.
Q: Has your experience impacted your personal life, self esteem, confidence, relationships, etc. in a way you’d like to share?
A: I have to say that it has made changes in that it has given me more confidence with myself. As I share my experience, I have had many people reach out to me amazed that I did this as well as thanking me for sharing my experience to show that anyone, no matter their body size, can and should feel comfortable with their bodies. Do I still wish I could have a smaller stomach and a gap between my legs, of course! But do I need to be ashamed of my body, absolutely not. I have three kids who look up to me and if I don’t show them how to love themselves, who will?
Q: Anything you’d like to add in your blog feature?!
A: As my oldest daughter starts her teenage years, she is struggling with body image as well as excepting what makes her unique. This experience has allowed me to embrace my own uniqueness so I can show her that strong women should be unique and if there are people who can not handle that, then she needs to find those who do because they are out there looking too!
