Queen Steph’s Experience

Q: What brought you to book a boudoir experience?

S: I wanted to book one for a few years but just couldn’t pull the trigger…I just turned 30 and figured what a better present to myself than this?! I looked at a few different photographers, but loved Amanda’s style – from the outfit/prop options, the studio furniture/backdrops, to the posing. I am a sucker for pictures with good lighting – and if you weren’t drooling over her client’s photos, then I would say you’re crazy. I was amazed with how she plays with the light…and I knew I would be happy with the results.

Q: How did you feel leading up to, and during your experience?

A: I would say that my excitement outweighed my anxiety until I turned onto the road…then it dawned on me that I would soon be in skivvies in front of a complete stranger. I was really happy that I opted to have my hair and makeup done – I think it helped release an edgy/sexy alter ego. We moved from hair/makeup to the client closet where I spent a good amount of time narrowing down about 10 outfits/accessories (but, that just means there are some in mind for next time!). I came into it thinking I was going to want a certain style and that was it, but with choosing multiple outfits, I am so glad that each set has a different feel. The outfit and prop options that she has range from cute/girl next door, to a little more risque, up to what you would expect to see in 50 Shades of Grey (go for it!). I loved having multiple “studio sets” to choose from, and Amanda was totally open for me to choose poses/sets to play with. About 95% of the time I just allowed her to have the creative eye and the only input I had was asking her where to put my hands about 538 times… this just feels awkward, hands are so weird! I have never modeled before and was nervous that I would look very stiff/uncomfortable, but Amanda took the time to show me how to pose, and helped to physically move my hand/arm/ finger/hair/outfit/etc, more times than I could count. She never once made me feel rushed or like I was inconveniencing her. I even doubted her idea a few times, but she reassured me that the funnier and more awkward the pose feels, the better it will look – and after seeing the pics, you can bet your ass she knows what she is talking about. Amanda’s energy is contagious. All of the happy dances and squeals made the experience even more fun – it was like hanging out with my best friend.

Q: How did seeing your final images at viewing make you feel?

A: Hot af. I had a hard time cutting out enough to fit in the large album, which I didn’t expect. I also didn’t expect to say “f###, yes” so many times when talking about pictures of me. We met over zoom to pick out the ones I wanted in the album and I thought I would be able to narrow it down to one of the smaller album options, but I couldn’t cut them out! (Bonus to meeting over zoom is when your boyfriend is playing his game next to you and hearing his response (or lack of) when he glances over. A picture may be worth a thousand words, but he was left speechless at times!)

Q: Has your experience impacted your personal life, self esteem, confidence, relationships, etc. in a way you’d like to share?

M: I think it’s safe to bet that most women probably struggle (or have in the past) with their body image. I know it was something that I have for 15+ years. The last few years I have been learning to love my body and appreciate everything it does to keep me alive and healthy. But this took it to another level. My boyfriend has said many times how beautiful/sexy I am, and I feel that seeing these images helped put a different perspective on it…it helped me see me, how he sees me. Which makes me think that all of those pictures I drooled over from other clients, that some may have felt the same way I did. I hope they know how freaking hot and amazing they are too. I told my friends about the experience and shared a few of the more modest photos….and then ended up just sharing the app with some of them because why the hell not?! This is definitely something that I will always keep close for anytime I am feeling self conscious at all… it’s all in perspective, and I think sometimes we can get caught up and have negative thoughts that cloud our judgement, and we can become hard on ourselves. But these photos tell the truth, and there is no way I could look at mine (or any others that I have seen) and not see how beautiful and sexy they are. It’s not even a question.
